Wayvon Lawayne Burns, 70, of Monticello, departed this life Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born October 7, 1951, in Drew County. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayvon David Burns and his step-father, Alton (Buddy) Middlebrook.
He was a truck driver and loved to hunt and fish or anything outdoors but, most of all, he loved his Lord Jesus Christ. Wayvon also loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He was also a member of the National Guard.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 50 years, Brenda Sue Bostian Burns of Monticello; four sons, Timothy Burns, Andy (Farrah) Burns, Devin Burns, Tracy (Stacy) Burns all of Monticello; his mother, Wanda Middlebrook of Monticello; six grandsons, Michael (Kristina) Knight, Nick and Tyler Burns, Austin Burns, Parker Burns and Chase Boykin; three granddaughters, Skylar Burns, Sidney Burns and Paige (Spencer) Raney; five great grandchildren, Maddix and Mia Tilley, Kolton Raney, and Jasper and Delilah Burns; a special brother-in-law, Danny Bostian; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Ray, Virginia (Frank) Hill, Kay Bostian and Marilyn Bostian; two additional brothers-in-law, Quentin Bostian and Sam Bostian; along with numerous other relatives and friends that he loved dearly.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Newman, Rev. Ed Hill and Rev. Devin Burns officiating.
