Willie Mae Gregory Hobbs, 96, of Monticello, passed away Friday, April 15, at the Woods Nursing Home in Monticello. She was born April 7, 1926, in Drew County to the late Eshroum Manuel "E.M." and Mae Bryant Gregory.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Monticello and enjoyed going to church services until she was no longer physically able to do so.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Bobby Lee Dye; her brothers, Robert Gregory and Lee Gregory; her husbands, Albert Hobbs and Roy Uptigrove. She is survived by a granddaughter, Tonya Loveless of Monticello; a daughter-in-law, Awana Dye of Cabot; a nephew, David Gregory of Dallas; a niece, Kay Stanley of Dallas; two nieces by marriage, Kay Gregory of Tyler, Texas, and Sherry Gregory of Monticello, and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Monday, April 18, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Green Hill Cemetery with Rev. Heath Bryant officiating. Please sign Ms. Willie Mae’s guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com
