Amari Lucas scores 18 to lead Lady Pirates over DeWitt 50-40

After losing 52-29 to McGehee on January 9 at home, the Drew Central Lady Pirates have won four consecutive contests.

The win streak began on January 12 with a road win over Lakeside 65-36.

The Lady Pirates would next travel to Camden Harmony Grove on January 23 to face the Lady Hornets. 

Drew Central would get out to a 10 point lead in the first quarter, outscoring Camden Harmony Grove 17-7 in the first quarter. 

The Lady Pirates would hold Camden scoreless in the second quarter, extending their lead to 29-7 after taking the quarter 12-0.

The Lady Pirates would take the third quarter 15-7 to hold a 44-14 lead heading into the fourth quarter under a running clock with the Sportsmanship Rule being initiated with the 30 point lead. 

In the fourth, the Lady Hornets would outscore the Lady Pirates 11-4 with Drew Central taking the contest 48-25.

Amari Lucas and Chloe Anderson each scored 11 points to lead the Lady Pirates. 

Sayveiona Durden added seven, McKinizie Adcock with six, KZ Gipson with five, Kassidie Gilbert with four, and Bailey Chapman with two.

The Lady Pirates returned to the Drew Central Gymnasium on January 24 to host the DeWitt Lady Dragons.

DeWitt would get on the board first to begin the contest with Amari Lucas getting the Lady Pirates on the board with a two followed by a free throw.

Lucas would lead the Lady Pirates in the quarter with six points with the Lady Pirates holding a one point lead at the end of the quarter, 12-11.

The teams would play an even second quarter with both teams scoring eight points with Drew Central holding a 20-19 lead at the half.

The score would remain close in the third quarter with the Lady Pirates holding a three point lead, 31-28, heading into the fourth quarter. 

In the fourth, the Lady Pirates would begin to pull away from DeWitt, outscoring the Lady Dragons 19-12 in the quarter to take a 10 point, 50-40, victory for their third consecutive win. 

Amari Lucas led the Lady Pirates with 18 points with Chloe Anderson adding 10 points. 

Bailey Chapman added nine, Sayveiona Durden with seven, Kassidie Gilbert with four, and Kalyiah Miller with two. 

Playing in their third game in three days, the Lady Pirates would extend their winning streak to four games with their second win in a week over Camden Harmony Grove. 

The Lady Pirates got out to a big lead in the first quarter after outscoring Camden 22-2.

The Lady Pirates would go on to defeat the Lady Hornets 58-29.

Amari Lucas led the way with 12 points followed by Bailey Chapman with nine. 

Chloe Anderson added seven, KZ Gipson and Kalyiah Miller scored six, Ryli Birch and Carla Vazquez scored five.

Sayveiona Durden, Kassidie Gilbert, McKinzie Adcock, and Kennedi Lambert rounded out the scoring with two points each.
