Baptist Health Medical Center - Drew County is proud to announce the recipient of the DAISY Award® for this quarter is Ruthie Griffin, LPN.

Her nomination story read, “During my gallbladder surgery, Ruthie administered my IV with such skill and compassion, turning what could have been a daunting experience into a comfortable one. As we conversed, she shared a heartwarming story about helping a little girl with a foreign body removal years ago. To my surprise, that girl turned out to be me. It was incredibly touching to reconnect with the nurse who had once cared for me as a child. Ruthie’s dedication to her patients is truly remarkable, and I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this recognition”

“Ms. Ruthie has a servant's heart. She goes above and beyond for our patients and her fellow co-workers. She is well known in this community for being a kind and loving nurse to everyone. She never meets a stranger and is always willing to go the extra mile to provide the best care to her patients. She is the best!” said Jana Webb, Director of Surgical Services.

The Daisy Award recognizes exceptional nurses for the care that they provide to their patients. BHMC- Drew County honors one nurse each quarter with the award. Each recipient receives a banner, certificate, Daisy Award pin and hand-carved “A Healer’s Touch” stone sculpture, along with other opportunities to further their education.
