The Monticello Billies would go on the road this past week to face the Bauxite Miners who came into Friday’s contest ranked 12th by Hooten’s Arkansas Football after a Week 1 win over the Star City Bulldogs.
Monticello came into Friday’s contest with a record of 0-1 after suffering a season opening loss at home to the Fordyce Redbugs and was ranked 28th by Hooten’s.
Bauxite would take a 7-0 first quarter lead but would trail at the half after the Billies would score two touchdowns to take a 14-10 advantage.
Monticello’s defense would allow one more Miner score with the Billies adding two scores to take the 28-16 win.
The Billies will return to Hyatt Field Friday at 7 pm to begin conference play against the DeWitt Dragons.
