Blossoms snap seven game skid with conference win at Southeastern

The University of Arkansas at Monticello Blossoms had not one a contest since November 22, 2023 with a 61-53 victory over the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. 

Since that time, the Blossoms have begun Great American Conference play that began with a home loss to Arkansas tech University, 58-48.

The Blossoms would follow with a road loss to Henderson State, 97-69.

Returning to Steelman Fieldhouse for the annual Jingle Jam for the final home game of 2023, the Blossoms would hold a one point lead with less than two minutes remaining in the contest, 65-64, but Harding would connect on a jumper with 46 seconds remaining in the contest and would hold off the Blossoms to take a 66-65 win.

Traveling to Arkadelphia to face Ouachita Baptist University on December 16 in the final contest of 2023, the Blossom would come up just short against the Lady Tigers after the Blossoms comeback fell short with Ouachita ending the game on the free throw line to take a 81-78 win.

UAM would drop their next two contests at home with a 75-58 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State University and a 74-69 loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Traveling to Oklahoma for two games this past week, the Blossoms would face East Central on Thursday.

The Blossoms would lead 26-23 at the half and would hold a six point, 39-33, lead heading into the fourth quarter.

East Central would outscore the Blossoms 16-6 in the fourth to take a 49-45 win.

The Blossoms would put a halt to their seven game skid against Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday.

The Blossoms would trail 26-20 at the half and by two points, 42-40, heading into the fourth quarter. 

In the fourth, the Blossoms would outscore Southeastern 19-14 to take a three-point, 59-56, win for their first GAC victory. 

UAM would have four players score in double-digits with Alindsey Long with 17 points, Alyssia Thorne with 13 points, Haleigh Crews with 12 points, and Bailey Harris with 10 points.
