Dennis graduated from Crossett High School in 1988. He attended church at Eagle Lake Crossroads and was a dedicated Alabama and Lumberjack fan, never missing a chance to cheer on his teams. He loved to drive anything that would go fast from Harleys, boats, side by sides, or the Corvette.

He worked all over the United States constructing and inspecting the pipeline, and made friends everywhere he went. Dennis loved to get together with family and friends to cook crawfish or mud ride but his favorite pastime was taking his grandkids to the park and the lake or riding around in the jeep. He had a huge heart for animals and loved all his fur babies so much.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Melanie Young Evans of Johnsville; three sons, Britt Burris (Lindsey), Clint Burris (Candice), and Eric Burris (Ashlyn) all of Monticello; most importantly those that he loved the most, his grandchildren, his pride and joys who knew him as Papow, his birdheads, Rylie Cate Burris, Blaize Burris, Ella Burris, Gunner Burris, and Averi Burris all of Monticello; his mother, Jeannie Davis of Hamburg; two brothers, Chris Evans of Fort Worth, Texas and Nick Davis of Arkansas Pass, Texas; a niece, Josie Evans of Saukville, Wis.; three nephews; Cole Evans of Fort Worth, Texas, Brayden and Jack Davis of Arkansas Pass, Texas; and a long-time friend who he called his brother, Rodney Donaldson.
