Eva Varnice Newby, 89, passed on Friday, March 15, in her home in Hot Springs. She was born on April 1, 1934, to her late parents, Eva Lou (Senn) Ferrell and John Vernice Ferrell in Vick. A devout Christian, daughter, mother, sister, and wife, she worked for many years in Little Rock as a medical assistant/ secretary and later in life enjoyed traveling and bargain shopping with her best friend since second grade, Delain Lansdale Hornaday who also preceded her. Twice widowed ( Windell Crowder and Harold Newby), she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Marcella Ferrell Forrest and Katherine Ferrell Hearnsberger, and her son, Windell Tony Crowder, and daughter, Patty Crowder Cherry. She leaves behind many family and friends who loved her and will remember her for her humor, kindness, generosity, and for always being a true lady.
