Harrell B. Rhodes, Sr., 94, of Wilmar, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born January 19, 1929, in Drew County to the late Leroy Rhodes and Mary Vesta Carey Rhodes.
He was retired from the United States Air Force, VA and Burlington Industries. Harrell was a Christian and loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Harrell Rhodes, Jr.; one brother; two sisters; and his wife, JoAnn Rhodes.
He is survived by a son, Ricky Rhodes (Helen) of Wilmar; three grandchildren, Tanya, Jonathan and Tiffany; daughter-in-law, Gina Rhodes of Monticello; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Elvin McDill officiating. There was also a visitation Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sixteenth Section Cemetery with military honors.
