On Monday, July 31, Monticello Mayor Jason Akers signed the construction project contract with McClelland Engineering and KJ Parker Construction to begin repairing the infrastructure on Davis and Merrydale Streets.
After years of delays, the project will begin on August 21, 2023 and will conclude on October 6, 2023. A firm timeline for beginning and completing the project was requested by the Mayor’s office so that the city can better manage and plan future infrastructure repairs
Residents will receive a new look for the neighborhood, with old collapsed drains and ditches removed, and a new, concrete ditch installed that spans from Davis Street to Merrydale Drive that will improve storm water flow.
