James Arliss Thomas, 79

James Arliss Thomas, 79, of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at his home. He was born October 18, 1944, in Warren to the late Travis and Levon Jackson Thomas.
He was a retired truck driver, a United States Army Vietnam War Veteran where he was a Paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne. James enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his grandkids and visiting friends. He was also a member of Abate.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ginger Lynn Thomas and Becky McKamie; and one brother, Danny Ray Thomas.
James is survived by his wife, Mary White Thomas of Monticello; his children, Patrick Thomas Fowler (Christy) of Monticello, Sean Thomas (Brandy) of Crossett, Jennifer Winchester (Bryan) of Warren, Lisa Rainwater (Tracy) of Monticello and Melissa Hilton of Hermitage; one sister, Nena Thomas (Jerry Word) of Wilmar; a nephew, Michael Paul Lochala; along with twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Friday, February 9, 2024, at  noon in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. There was a visitation beginning at 11 a.m. before the funeral service.
