Joyce Evelyn Miller Jones, 76, of Monticello (Enon Community), went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 19, 2023, at her home. She was born October 3, 1946, in the Enon Community in Drew County to the late James Frank Miller and Mary Louise Green Miller.
She was the Designated Representative for the State of Arkansas Health Department (PERK testing) for over 30 years and a longtime member of the Enon Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer for over 35 years. She also served on the Enon Cemetery Board for many years. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Miller.
Joyce enjoyed her girls' trips to Branson with lifelong friends Sharon Hancock, Carolyn Hales, and Betty Watson. One of her favorite places to be was working in her yard, feeding her wildlife, and preparing Sunday meals for her family. You always knew she loved you by the delicious meals she served. She was an avid sports fan and spent many Saturday nights at the racetrack with her family. She was also an expert seamstress often making many family members' clothing throughout her years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Jones; two sons, Dale Jones (Misty) and Steve Jones (Sandy)  of Monticello; her grandchildren, Caroline Adair Flemister (Kipp) of Monticello, Dustin Davis (Galysa) of Morral, Ohio, Delaney Davis Moyer (Jeff) of Gillett, Alli Hawkins (Scott) of Monticello, J.C. Adair and Matthew Jones of Monticello; great-grandchildren, Weylyn Adair, Austin Young, Nova Moyer, Randi Moyer, Hadleigh Hawkins, Sutton Hawkins, Iva Davis, and Carter Jones with an additional coming in September 2023; numerous nieces and nephews she adored; along with a maternal niece and nephew, Jennifer O'Fallon and Jim Miller who held a special place in her heart.
Funeral services were held at  10 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Dunn officiating. Burial was in Enon Cemetery. There was a visitation Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
