Lady Billies improve to 5-0 on the season with conference win

The Monticello Lady Billies remained perfect on the season, winning four contests this past week to improve to 5-0 on the season including a victory over the Warren Lady Jacks to begin conference play on Tuesday night.

After a scheduled contest against Woodlawn was cancelled, the Lady Billies would go on the road to Rison to face the Lady Wildcats for the second contest of the season. 

Rison would get five runs in the contest, but Monticello would record 17 in the 17-5 win at Rison.

The Lady Billies would return to action for a pair of games at home on Saturday, March 2.

In the first contest, the Lady Billies would find themselves in a pitchers duel with Alaina Lyle recording a double in the first inning to score Libby Kingston for the only run of the contest in the 1-0 win.

The Lady Billies would return for game two to take a 15-0, one hit shutout over the Smackover Lady Buckaroos. 

The Lady Billies would open 8-4A Conference play on Tuesday, March 5, hosting the Warren Lady Jacks.

Alaina Lyle would record 10 strikeouts in four innings with Addi Frazer throwing one inning, recording three strikeouts.

The Lady Billies would hit five home runs in the contest with Kiley Lane and Frazer connecting for one each, and Lyle hitting two in the contest. 

The Lady Billies would score 10 runs on 12 hits in the game. 

Monticello will travel to Star City on Thursday at 5 pm and will play in the Smackover tournament on Saturday at 12 pm.
