The Drew Central Lady Pirates wrapped up the regular season this week with a pair of wins and securing a third place finish in the 8-3A Conference and a third seed heading into the District Tournament.

The Lady Pirates would host the Lakeside Lady Beavers on Tuesday, February 6.

This would be the second meeting of the teams this season with the Lady Pirates taking the first game 65-34 on the road in Lake Village on January 12.

That win halted a three game skid to Rison, Dumas, and Mcgehee.

Coming into the home contest, Drew Central was once again coming off losses to Dumas and McGehee.

Lake Village would control the opening tip but it would be the Lady Pirates that would get on the board first on a two by Bailey Chapman.

Lake Village would tie the contest at two a minute later with 6:22 on the clock and would take the lead at the 4:21 mark, 4-2.

Chloe Anderson connected on a pair of free throws to even the contest at four that helped the Lady Pirates go on a 9-0 run with points from Sayveiona Durden, Chapman, and a three pointer from Amari Lucas.

Lucas would connect on her second three with 30 seconds remaining in the contest to give Drew Central a 14-7 lead at the end of the quarter.

Lucas would begin the second quarter with a three as the Lady Pirates began the quarter going on a 13-0 run and would outscore Lakeside 18-9 in the quarter to take a 32-16 lead into the halftime break.

Drew Central continued to outscore the Lady Beavers in the third quarter, taking the quarter 12-5 for a 44-21 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter went much the same for the Lady Pirates as the team outscored Lakeside 10-6 in the fourth for a 54-27 victory.

Amari Lucas led the way with 18 points followed by Bailey Chapman and Sayveiona Durden with nine.

Chloe Anderson added eight, McKinzie Adcock and Kaliyah Miller with three, with KZ Gipson and Kassidie Gilbert rounding out the scoring with two points.

Traveling to DeWitt on Thursday night, the Lady Pirates would get their final win of the regular season with a 61-46 victory to finish the regular season with an overall record of 19-7 and a 8-3A conference record of 8-4 heading into the District Tournament.
