Lady Pirates win four straight to move to 2-0 in conference play

The Drew Central Lady Pirates improved to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the 3A-8 Conference after winning four consecutive ball games.

The Lady Pirates began their four game streak with a 59-14 win over the Warren Lady Jacks in their first game in the Mini-State Classic held at Drew Central Gymnasium on Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3.

The Lady Pirates would defeat Alpena in their second game of the Classic, 38-34. 

The Lady Pirates would begin 3A-8 Conference play on Tuesday, December 6, hosting the Smackover Lady Buckaroos.

The Lady Pirates would get 10 points from Ali Jo Cruce to defeat Smackover 58-13 for the first conference win of the season. 

Cruce would lead th eLady Pirates again on Friday night, December 10, with 14 points followed by Kaiya Williams with 13 to defeat Camden Harmony Grove 58-22 on the road for their fourth consecutive win and to improve to 7-4, 2-0 on the season. 

The Lady Pirates’ win streak would come to an end on Tuesday, December 14, with a loss on the road to 4A-8 Conference competitor the Hamburg Lady Lions. 

Hamburg would defeat the Lady Pirates by a score of 52-48.

The Lady Pirates will next face Monticello in the “Showdown in M-Town” on Friday.
