Junior and Senior Chess Tournaments were held at the Southeast Arkansas Education Service Cooperative on Monday, April 4, for students in Southeast Arkansas school districts, grades 7-12. There were 45 participants, featuring first place winner, Ivan Pahuamba (Warren), second place winner, Jacob Burnett (Drew Central), and third place winner, Alex Ayala (Warren).
An elementary chess tournament was held at Southeast Arkansas Education Service Cooperative on Friday, April 8 for southeast Arkansas elementary students in grades 3-6. 80 students participated in the tournament including first place winner, Caleb Norris, second place winner, Dhruv Patel, and third place winner, Bo Hobbs. All the winners attend Monticello School District.
