Monticello Ambulance Service, Inc presented Drew County with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for use in cardiac emergencies. Training for the use of the AED will also be provided as needed.
The AED is a lightweight portable device that will deliver an electric shock through the chest to the heart when it detects an abnormal rhythm. AED's help people who have a sudden cardiac arrest, which occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating.
It is the goal at MASI to continue to provide our community with the best EMS care available.
