According to the Chief of Police, Carlos Garcia, Monticello officers were dispatched at 11:30 a.m. on January 1,2024 to the 300 block of East Willis St. in reference to a male subject being shot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Monticello Criminal Investigation Department is actively investigating the incident.
