Joe Rogers, former Mayor of Monticello, has announced his candidacy for Mayor in the upcoming election in November.

Rogers is a native of Monticello and resident of Drew County for 58 years. He has been the manager of his family business, Rogers Men’s Wear for the past 44 years. Rogers was elected Mayor in 2007 and served to 2010 and again for five months as interim mayor in 2014.

He was the Arkansas State Baseball Commissioner for 20 years and has served on the southeast Arkansas Workforce Investment Board.

He is married to Stephanie Rogers and they have two children, Dr. Zach Crossett and Maggie Hand.

“Monticello is facing a number of challenges and desperately needs a mayor that has the experience and ability to meet these challenges,” Rogers said. “When elected, I will serve the whole community honestly with integrity and respect. My door has always been open and I will continue to listen and appreciate input from all our citizens. I have a vision for Monticello and with your help we can bring that vision to reality and a bright future. I appreciate your vote for Mayor of Monticello.”
