Sammy Kay Bennett Searcy, 79, of Wilmar, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at her home. Mrs. Searcy was born June 30, 1944 in Star City to the late Samuel and Mary Bennett. Sammy was a loving and faithful wife and loving grandmother. She enjoyed, cooking, collecting, shopping, playing bunco, and raising chickens. Mrs. Searcy also loved to travel and looked forward to her annual trip to Branson. She was retired from Searcy and Associates Accounting and was member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello.
Also preceding her in death is one brother, David Bennett, and two sisters, Relda Jane Bennett, and Jo Bennett
Survivors include her husband, of 58 years, Jim Searcy of Wilmar; two sons, James “Pete” Searcy (Stephanie), and Charles S. Searcy (Leslie), both of Wilmar; one brother, Johnny Bennett (Carolyn Jo) of Star City; five grandchildren, Gabby Searcy, Maddie Searcy, Morgan Scott (Dustin), Abby Branscome (Josh), and Matthew Searcy; two great grandchildren, Searcy Scott and Bruin Scott.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello. Bro. David Jacks Officiating. Visitation is 1p.m. Wednesday until funeral time at the Church.
Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Glendale. Pallbearers are, Jim Searcy, Pete Searcy, Charles Searcy, Matthew Searcy, Dustin Scott, and Josh Branscome.
