SEARK Reading Council presents writing contest winners

Posted

SEARK Reading Council hosted their second meeting of the year January 22, 2024 at Drew Central Middle School Library.  SEARK sponsored a writing contest for grades second through twelfth grade. The winners of the Young Writers’ Competition were recognized and read their winning writing pieces to the audience. Students wrote an expository piece titled “Which famous person would you like to meet and Why?”. Parents, relatives and members were on hand to celebrate the students’ accomplishments.  Local winners were submitted to a state writing contest sponsored by the Arkansas Literacy Association. Winners of this event will be honored this summer at the Council Leadership Institute for the Arkansas Literacy Association.
