Stacey Levelle Smith was born on July 13, 1969, in Warren, Arkansas to the late Velma R. Smith and Marion L. Neal. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Stacey was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Elbert and Nora Robinson; his paternal grandparents, Dave and Willie Mae Neal; his older brothers, Harold Smith and Earnest ''Peter'' Neal.
Stacey was educated in the Warren Public School system where he was a member of the Lumberjack band from 7th-12th grade, and then to the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff where he was a member of the ''Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-south'' better known as ''M4''! He loved his marching band days playing the tuba!
Stacey returned home after the passing of his mother, and began his ''Legacy of Life''! He was the unofficial ''Ambassador '' of the Northside!! He drove, ran errands, he provided for so many people and his jovial spirit and smile were always present! His church, Bethel AME Church in Warren, was his love and he served so faithfully. He held so many titles, he was a steward, trustee, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and janitor. Bethel AME Church has lost a ''Diamond'' his brilliance and brightness will be missed!
He leaves to cherish his memories, his sister, Vickie Smith-Ferrell (Lee) of Grand Prairie, Texas; brother, Gary Smith (Evelyn) of Grand Prairie, Texas; God-sister, Anita Shaw-Tenner of Warren; God-brother, Charles Coleman of Warren; a devoted aunt, Willie Ruth Bowie of Duarte, Calif.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom all loved him dearly.
He touched many lives and his life was his Legacy!!! He will forever live in our hearts.
Funeral Services will be held at Bethel AME Church in Warren, AR on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. Burial in his earthly resting place will be in Norris Hill Cemetery in Fountain Hill following the Funeral Services. The fellowship repast will be at the VFW in Monticello.
