The Healing Hearts Easter project holds Easter celebration with Options

Posted

The Healing Hearts Easter project recently treated the 16 guests at Options to an Easter celebration. Currently, the Options shelter has seven women and nine children.

Thank you, Junior Auxiliary of Monticello, for the Easter baskets for the kids. Easter lunch provided by Amy Smith, Gay Pace, Diana Patrick, Ray Nelson, Meredith Bates Shillings, Regina Henthorne, Jayme Lawson, and Amanda Killingsworth. Cupcakes by Maxine Wigley. Thank you, Cash Saver, for working on Easter and cooking such delicious fried chicken. Easter treats for the ladies Tracy Daniel, Diana Patrick, and Amanda Killingsworth.

Options Shelter serves seven counties. Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, Drew, Lincoln, and Union.

They serve victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, teen dating violence, stalking, and being homeless. The shelter in Monticello can house 27 people!

On average, it takes seven times to leave an abuser. 70 percent of women and 54 percent of men who have been physically or sexually abused or stalked by a dating partner first experienced abuse between the ages of 11 and 24.

THANK YOU!!! To every single human who had a hand in healing these hearts. If you would like to volunteer, or support the shelter in anyway please reach out to us.

Our 24-hour hotline number is 870-367-3488!
