UAM Blossoms still in search of first win of 2023 Volleyball season

The University of Arkansas at Monticello Blossom Volleyball team are still in search of their first win in the 2023 season.

The Blossoms began the season with the first ever volleyball tournament held on the campus of UAM in Steelman Fieldhouse, the Blossom Classic Invitational Tournament.

As reported in an earlier edition of the Advance, the Blossoms would fall in three sets in all four of their tournament matches.

Continuing play in non conference contests, the Blossoms would travel to Pine Bluff to face the UAPB Lady Golden Lions. The Blossoms lost to  UAPB in an exhibition contest  3-2.

The Blossoms would fall at UAPB in straight sets, 3-0.

Travelling to Denton, Texas for four games in the 2023 Denton Volleyfest on September 8 through September 9, the Blossoms would fall to all four opponents in the tournament. 

The Blossoms lost in three sets in all four contests losing to Augustana University, The University of Central Oklahoma, The University of Illinois Springfield, and Texas Woman's University. 

Playing in their opening Great American Conference, travelling to Russellville to face the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns, on September 12, falling in three sets.

The Blossoms would travel to Arkadelphia on September 16 for two contests in the Ouachita Baptist/Henderson State Day Tournament.

In the 9 am contest, the Blossoms would fall in three sets to the University of Alaska Anchorage.

The Blossoms would win their first sets of the 2023 season in their next contest, falling to Lee University 3-2.

The Blossoms returned to Arkadelphia on Tuesday, September 19, to face GAC opponent Ouachita Baptist, falling to the Lady Tigers 3-0.

UAM returned to Steelman Fieldhouse on Thursday, September 21, hosting GAC opponent Southern Arkansas University, falling to the Lady Muleriders 3-1.

The Blossoms would lose on the road to Harding University in GAC play 3-0 on Tuesday, September 26.

The Blossoms will return to Steelman Fieldhouse on Thursday, September 28, hosting Henderson at 4 pm.
