7th graders from Drew Central Middle School recently competed in the Patriot’s Pen essay contest. There were 17 contestants in all. The contest was presented and judged by the local VFW members. The first place winner was Jaci Hammil who won $100. Second place was Cole Reed who won $75, and Landon Parks won $50 for third place.
