The Monticello Billies have won three consecutive contests after dropping three straight games.
After losing to Warren, Crossett, and a non conference contest to the DeWitt Dragons, the Billies came back to defeat the Hamburg Lions on Tuesday, April 15, in a 3-2 victory.
The Billies would pick up another conference win against Watson Chapel 16-2 to improve to 5-2 in 8-4A Conference play.
Travelling to Star City on Tuesday, April 22, the Billies were looking to continue winning in conference to improve their conference standing in the final regular season games of the 2025 season.
Hudson Harvey would get the start for the Billies in Star City and would pitch the complete game.
Blaine Hayden would get the first hit of the contest for the Billies in the first inning on a single but would be left on base in the inning.
Monticello would get on the board in the top of the fourth inning.
After a lead off out, Brooks Harvey would draw a walk followed by the second out of the inning on a ground out, Tye Guthrie would connect on a double to score Harvey for the 1-0 lead.
The Billies would add to their lead in the top of the sixth inning.
Hayden would lead off with a single followed by a ground out by Brooks Harvey for the first out of the inning.
Laytn Nichols would fly out to center but would score Hayden to put the Billies up 2-0.
The score would remain to the end of the contest to give the Billies their sixth conference win.
Hayden would lead the way at the plate for the Billies going 2 for 3 with a run scored.
The Billies will host Warren on Thursday at 5 pm followed by a non-conference contest on Monday at home against El Dorado on Monday followed by the final conference contest against Crossett on Tuesday.
