The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils returned to Convoy Leslie Cotton Bowl Stadium on Saturday, September 26, hosting the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys on Parent/Family Weekend.
The Weevils would win the coin toss and would defer to the second half.
Charles Stinson would get off a 49-yard kick and after a 15-yard return, the Wonder Boys would start the opening drive at their own 31.
Tech would get their first score of the contest eight plays later on a two-yard run by Dominic Feliciano and an extra point by Fernando Ventura to give Tech a 7-0 lead.
THe Weevils began their first drive of the contest at their own 26 and after getting a first down on the drive would be forced to punt the ball away with Tech taking over possession on their own 25 after the punt went out of bounds.
Tech would increase their lead to 14-0 after covering 75 yards in seven plays.
UAM would be forced to punt on their second drive with the kick going out of bounds at the Arkansas Tech 49.
The Wonder Boy drive would extend into the second quarter and would end on a 34-yard field goal by Ventura to put Tech up 17-0.
UAM would begin their first drive of the second quarter on their own 29.
Dave Alston would get positive yards for a three-yard gain and on the next play, Drew Forkner would connect with DT McCoy for a 44-yard gain to the Tech 24.
The Weevils would advance the ball down to the three to set up third and three.
The Weevils would bring on Keith Wells Jr., normally a Weevil defensive lineman, who would find himself all alone in the endzone for a three-yard touchdown reception from Forkner to put the Weevils on the board.
It would be Wells’ first collegiate reception and touchdown.
Charles Stinson added the extra-point to cut the lead to 17-7.
UAM would cut the lead to 17-10 on their next possession after Stinson connected on a 25-yard field goal.
Arkansas Tech would extend their lead to 20-10 before the end of the half after a 23-yard field goal by Ventura.
UAM had one final possession of the half ending on a 10-yard run by Alston.
The Weevils would pull within a field goal in the third quarter.
Alston would have a long run of 23 yards on the scoring drive to reach the Arkansas Tech one yardline and would get the next carry to seal the drive with a touchdown.
After the Stinson extra-point, the Weevils trailed 20-17.
UAM would have the final possession of the quarter and would extend the drive into the fourth quarter with a one-yard touchdown pass from Forkner to Braylon Henry.
Stinson added the extra-point to give UAM a 24-20 lead with 14:54 remaining in the contest.
The Weevils would extend their lead to 27-20 with 12:07 on the clock after Stinson connected on a 21-yard field goal and would add another field goal with 3:34 remaining in the contest on a 38-yard attempt to lead 30-20.
Tech would add a final score with UAM getting their first win of the 2026 season and the first win for Head Coach Garry Goff.
With the win over the Wonder Boys, the Weevils extend their win streak against Arkansas Tech to three consecutive games.
The Weevils improved their record to 1-3 on the season and will travel to Bethany, Oklahoma on Saturday for a 2 pm kickoff against Southern Nazarene University.
The Crimson Storm come into Saturday’s contest with a record of 0-3.
