The University of Arkansas at Monticello Blossoms would travel to Alva, Oklahoma for a three game series against the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers in Great American Conference play.
Opening the series on Friday, March 21, the Blossoms would take game one of the scheduled double-header 4-3 over seven innings after trailing most of the contest 3-0.
Northwestern would get on the board first after a scoreless first inning in the bottom of the second.
After getting the lead off batter to fly out, UAM pitcher Kayla Olthouse would walk the next batter and give up a single before the next batter lined out for the second out of the inning.
The next two batters would single to score the only run of the inning.
Northwestern would add two more runs in the bottom of the third to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Blossoms would get on the board in the top of the sixth inning after Jade Keaton scored on an error in the field to cut the lead to 3-1.
The Blossoms would hold Northwestern scoreless in the bottom of the inning and would come back in the top of the seventh to take the lead after scoring three runs highlighted by a double by Maddie Pfleging that scored two runs to tie the game at three.
Jadyn Hart would have a sacrifice fly to score Lainey Tippen for the final score of the contest and after a shutout bottom of the inning, the Blossoms would take the 4-3 win.
Northwestern would come back in the second game of the double-header to score two runs in the bottom of the second inning and two runs in the bottom of the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 4-0 lead and would go on to win the contest by a score of 4-1 with the Blossoms only run coming in the top of the seventh inning on a Sophie Wood single that scored Hart.
Returning for the final game of the series on Saturday, March 22, The Rangers would get single runs in the bottom of the fourth anf fifth innings to take a 2-0 lead.
The Blossoms would come back in the top of the sixth inning to score two runs on a triple by Cada Collins.
Northwestern added a run in the bottom of the inning to break the tie, but UAM would score three runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Kylie Bonicelli would connect for a single to score Dacia Sexton followed by a run by Collins to score Bonicelli and Jadyn Hart to take a 5-3 lead.
Northwestern would come back in the bottom of the seventh inning to score three runs with the final run coming on a walkoff walk to give Northwestern Oklahoma State University the 6-5 victory dropping the Blossoms record to 13-18.
