Coming into the final serie4s of the 2026 UAM Softball Season, the Blossoms would enter the three game series with Southern Nazarene University having already been eliminated from any postseason play.
Southern Nazarene had already secured their Great American Conference Tournament spot as one of the eight qualifiers for the tournament.
The Blossoms, who were sitting towards the bottom of the conference, came into the series with a chance to improve their GAC Conference standing in the final rankings.
Playing a double-header on Thursday, April 30, the Blossoms would send Makenzie Martin to the circle to face the Crimson Storm.
SNU would get a run in the first inning, but the Blossoms would get a run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI by Dacia Sexton.
The Blossoms would get two runs in the bottom of the third, three in the fourth, and two in the fifth to take the first game of the series 8-5 with Martin picking up her eighth win of the season and Ronnie Johnson getting the save.
In Game Two, Kayla Olthouse
would get the starting job and would have a 2-0 advantage to work with after the Blossoms scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning.
Ronnie Johnson would come in to earn her second save of the series, and season, in the 2-1 win.
Olthouse would pick up her third win of the year.
Following the double-header, the Blossoms would honor their four graduating seniors Dacia Sexton, Aubree Goodnight, Kayla Olthouse, and Makenzie Martin.
The Blossoms would return for the final game of the season on Friday, May 1, with Martin getting the final start of her career at UAM.
After giving up a first inning run, the Blossoms would score big in the bottom of the first inning.
Sexton would double to score Jolie Bazan.
Maddie Moore would double to score Sexton and Kylie Bonicelli.
Madelyn Willard would connect for a two run home run that scored Moore for the 6-1 lead.
SNU would get one more run in the contest with the Blossoms scoring two with Sexton connecting on her second double of the contest.
UAM would close the series with an 8-2 win with the final GAC standing having UAM just outside the field of eight for the GAC Tournament.
The Blossoms improved to 17-31 and 10-23 in the conference.
