Eula Mae Waller, a cherished soul known for her kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality, left us on September 6, 2024. Mae was born to Laura Edna Burks Hales and Harris Pope Hales Sr in Monticello, on January 31, 1934.
Mae is survived by her sister Jo Ann Handly, her brother George Michael Hales, son William C Waller III, and grandson William C Waller IV. She was preceded in death by her father, Harris, mother Edna, brothers James Monroe Hales, Harris Pope Hales Jr., Donald Ray Hales, husband William (Bill) C Waller Jr., and daughter Leslie Ann Waller.
Mae married William in 1956. They had two children, Leslie Ann and William. Throughout their marriage, Mae and Bill called Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Colorado home.
Mae's life was filled with love for her family. She was an exceptional artist who favored painting wildlife and landscapes in oil. Mae also loved antiques and was a well-known antique dealer. She made sure everyone ate well and made the best chicken and dumplings and pecan pie you have ever had. She had a quick wit and a loving heart and will be missed by all who knew her.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Green Hill Cemetery in Green Hill, with Bro. Ray Hearron officiating.
