Lady Billies announce postseason awards after historical season

Coming off a historical 2026 softball season, the Monticello Lady Billies continue to earn accolades after the final out of the 4A State Championship game that saw Monticello capture the school’s first State Softball Championship.

This was the school’s second trip to the championship game, having played in the title game
in 2003.

The Lady Billies have earned postseason accolades with three players earning All-State honors and an unprecedented 10 All-Conference selections.

Addi Frazer, Libby Kingston, and Ashley Hales would earn All-State and All-Conference
honors.

Frazer and Kingston would also earn roster positions on the All-Star team for the East Team. The All-Star recognition is an honor players are selected to despite the All-Star games having not been played in several years.

Frazer was also the MVP of the 4A State Championship game.

Frazer pitched the complete game in the 7-4 win over the Warren Lady Jacks striking out 11 batters.

Frazer was also 1 for 4 from the plate with a home run, 2 RBI, and two runs scored.

Seven more Lady Billie players were selected as All-Conference.

Macy Stell, Kiley Lane, Joanie Jeffers, Mia Scogin, Bliss Becker, Grace Ferguson, and Halle Ross rounded out the All-Conference selections.

There will be more team awards that will be presented at the annual Lady Billie Softball Banquet, to be announced at a later date, to honor the 4A State Champions.

The Lady Billies finished the season with a 26-3 overall record with one win coming early in the season after a forfeit.

Frazer finished the season 11-1 with one save, Stell was 11-2 with two saves, and Rhyse Guthrie was 3-0.

The 2026 seniors finished a four-year run of four consecutive conference championships, five conference titles in a row, consecutive 4A-4 Regional
Championships, and capturing the 4A State Championship with an overall four year record of
94-16.

There are several factors behind the scenes that also contribute to the success of the Lady
Billies.

There are 30 sponsors every year that sponsor the program with purchasing of signs that are displayed along the field’s fence.

Coach BJ Jackson and the Lady Billies are thankful for each sponsor.

“We thank all the sponsors of the program,” stated Coach Jackson. “We are currently working on donations to purchase Championship Rings, and several sponsors have already donated.”

Those sponsors include RD Jones Logging, Gathings Investment, Tommy Maxwell, Sampy Jones, Sheila McDaniel, Seark Boats, Commercial Bank, Ryburn Motor Company, Seark Smiles, War Eagle, Interfor, and Union Bank.

La Terraza Restaurant and Avocados will each donate 10% of sales to the Lady Billies program with La Terraza giving 10% of their sales on June 11 and Avocados on June 15. This is for sales excluding alcohol.

“The Championship Rings will cost around $200 per ring, and every donation helps to make this possible,” stated Jackson.

Coach Jackson and the booster club are hoping to have the rings by the softball banquet or possibly presenting the rings at halftime during a Monticello Billie home game this football season.

Overall, these donations help to buy uniforms for the team and provide for team meals before every contest, as well as many other team needs.

“We are grateful for the continued support of Monticello athletics and the Lady Billes.”

“Thank you for helping us celebrate history and invest in the future of our student athletes.”
