Lady Pirates open season with win over Fordyce, fall to Crossett

The Drew Central Lady Pirates began the 2025 season with a dominant win on the road over the Fordyce Ladybugs.

Emma McRae would pitch the complete contest striking out nine allowing only one hit and walking three batters.

The Lady Pirates would score three runs in the first, one in the second, five in the third, and a run in the fourth and fifth innings to defeat Fordyce 11-0.

The Lady Pirates would return to Drew Central on Thursday, March 6, for their first home contest of the season, hosting the Crossett Lady Eagle.

Crossett would load the bases in the first inning but Drew Central would get out of the inning to score the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the first.

Crossett would score five runs in the top of the third followed by two runs in the fourth and two in the top of the sixth to take a 9-3 win.

The Lady Pirates will travel to Rison on Friday for the first conference game of the season.
