The Monticello Billies and Lady Billies and the Drew Central Pirates and Lady Pirates are looking to punch their tickets to postseason play with the regular season in the final stretch.
For Monticello, the Billies and Lady Billies have five contests remaining on the regular season schedule with each squad sitting in fourth in the 8-4A Conference Standings.
The Billies are currently behind Warren, Star City, and Watson Chapel, with Hamburg and Crossett at the bottom of the conference rankings.
The Lady Billies are behind Watson Chapel, Star City, Warren, with Hamburg and Crossett at the bottom of the conference rankings.
The Billies and Lady Billies will be on the road for their next conference contests with their final three contests being at the new Billie Arena.
Monticello travels to Hamburg on Friday, February 7, and to Watson Chapel on February 11.
The final three contests at home will be against Star City on February 14, Warren on February 18, and the final regular season contest coming against Crossett on February 20.
Both teams have to finish at least fourth to qualify for postseason play, which would be the 4A-4 Regional Tournament that will be hosted by Monticello at the Billie Arena.
If the teams finish in fourth they will have to face the first seed from the 4A-7.
For the Drew Central Pirates and Lady Pirates, there are four games remaining in the regular season schedule.
The Pirates are currently in third place in the 3A-8 behind Dumas and Helena with DeWitt, McGehee, Rison, and Lakeside rounding out the standings.
For the Lady Pirates, they are currently in second in the 8-3A behind Dumas and followed by McGehee, DeWitt, Rison, Lakeside, and Helena.
Both the Pirates and Lady Pirates are vying for position in the District Tournament to determine their seeding for the 3a-4 Region Regional Tournament to be held at Centerpoint.
Both teams have to advance through the District Tournament and finish no worse than fourth to qualify for regionals.
