The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils fell to 0-3 in Great American Conference play on Saturday hosting the Henderson State University Reddies at Convoy Leslie Cotton Bowl Stadium.
UAM would receive the ball to begin the contest and would be forced to punt on the first drive.
After forcing Henderson to punt, UAM’s next drive would end on a turnover after a fumble was recovered by Henderson at the UAM 30.
Henderson would get on the board on the drive with a touchdown run and extra point to go up 7-0.
After another punt by UAM. Henderson would increase their lead to 14-0 in the first quarter and would go up 24-0 in the second quarter after a field goal and a touchdown.
UAM would get three on the board with 1:12 remaining in the half on a 36 yard field goal from Charles Stinson.
UAM would get their first touchdown after a pass from Tavion Faulk to Ahmari Cox for a 29 yard strike.
Stinson added the extra point to cut the lead to 24-10.
Henderson came back to increase the lead to 31-10 on their next drive with UAM cutting the lead to 31-18 with 3:37 left in the third quarter after a 61 yard touchdown pass to Cox and a two-point conversion run by Faulk.
It would be the final UAM score of the contest as Henderson would find the endzone two more times and a field goal to set up the final score of 48-18.
Henderson State improves to 3-0 with the Weevils falling to 0-3.
UAM will next travel to Russellville on Saturday to face the 3-0 Wonder Boys at Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium with a 6 pm kickoff scheduled.
Arkansas Tech enters the contest after starting the season 3-0 for the first time since the 2017 season after defeating Southwestern Oklahoma on the road, Northwestern Oklahoma at home, and a road win over Ouachita Baptist.
