The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils, who are currently ranked eighth in the Central Region and tied for second in the Great American Conference, travelled to Searcy for a three game weekend series with nationally ranked #15 and #3 ranked in the Central Region Harding.
Beginning the series on Thursday, March 27, the Weevils would fall behind early after Harding took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
The Bison would four answered runs before UAM would get on the board with a single run in the top of the sixth inning with Harding adding three runs in the bottom of the sixth to set up the final score of 7-1.
Returning on Friday for a double-header, the Weevils would send Maxim Mrakovcic to the mound for the second contest of the series.
UAM would get three singles from Camden Tanner, Chaz Poppy, and Justin Santoyo to get a single run in the top of the first inning to take an early advantage.
Harding would tie the contest in the bottom of the third with a single run to make the score 1-1.
The Weevils would continue to get runs across the plate, scoring three runs in the top of the fifth, four in the seventh, and two in the eighth to take a 10-1 win.
Mrakovcic would improve to 6-1 on the season, pitching the complete contest, allowing one run on 12 hits, and striking out five.
Justin Santoyo and Chase Cripps would each go 3 for with Santoyo having 3 RBI and Cripss having one.
Aidan Garrett also recorded 3 RBI in the contest going 2 for 3.
In the final game of the series, the Weevils would complete the series win with three runs in the top of the third inning and a run in the top of the fifth on a homerun by Roc Hawthorne.
Harding would tie the contest with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and a single run in the bottom of the sixth.
The game would go into extra innings with UAM taking the final lead in the top of the 13th inning on an RBI single by Camden Tanner that scored Kyle Tolley to take the 5-4 extra innings victory.
