The UAM Blossoms and Weevils wrapped up their non conference portion of the schedule before beginning Great American Conference play, travelling to Oklahoma to face Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist University.
The Blossoms would enter conference play with a 5-1 overall record with their only defeat coming to the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith on November 9.
Travelling to Bethany, Oklahoma on December 3 to face Southern Nazarene University, the Blossoms would find themselves behind early after SNU got off to a 8-0 run to begin the contest.
Haliegh Crews would end the SNU run with a layup to cut the lead to 8-2.
SNU would go on to outscore the Blossoms 24-8 in the first quarter.
SNU would maintain their double-digit lead throughout the second quarter of play with the Blossoms cutting the lead to 12 points before SNU took a 25 point, 48-23, lead at the half.
SNU continued to build on their advantage in the third quarter, taking a 40 point, 75-35, lead into the final quarter of play.
SNU would score 13 fourth quarter points, but would have control of the contest until the final buzzer to take the 37 point, 88-37, victory.
Haliegh Crews would lead the Blossoms on the scoreboard with 12 points followed by Camille Pritchard with 11 points.
Ella Mask added eight points, Alyssa Batton with seven, and Alindsey Long with four points.
Bailey Harris, Nicole Weaver, and Cha’Myrean Ellis all contributed with two points each.
The Blossoms will return to action on Thursday, December 5, remaining in Oklahoma to face Oklahoma Baptist University.
Tipoff is set for 5:30 pm.
The Weevils ended their non conference schedule on Wednesday, November 27, travelling to Cleveland, Mississippi to face Delta State University.
The Weevils and Statesman would go back and forth throughout the first half of play with Delta State coming on to the half with a two point lead, 33-31.
Delta State would pull away from the Weevils in the second half, with their biggest lead being 21 points on two occasions before taking the 16 point, 79-63, win.
UAM would take their 3-3 record on the road on Tuesday night to face GAC opponent Southern Nazarene.
UAM and SNU would go back and forth on the scoreboard throughout the first half of play with SNU taking the lead for the final time in the half on a three with 1:19 on the clock.
SNU would hold on to a 25-21 lead at the break.
SNU would continue their scoring run to start the second half, having scored the final five points of the first half, SNU would continue to put points on the board starting the second half with a 16-0 run before UAM got points on the board with three by Noah Thomas.
SNU would continue to hold a double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest, taking a 23 point, 67-44, victory.
The Weevils would have two players in double-digits with Devin Davis leading the way with 12 points and Noah Thomas with 11.
Tadarius Jacobs added six, Jamir Turner with 5, and Seth Grandberry with four points.
Joseph Frazier, Alex Brogdon, and Caleb Carr rounded out the scoring with two points each.
With the loss, the Weevils fall to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the GAC.
The Weevils will remain in Oklahoma, travelling to Shawnee, Oklahoma to face Oklahoma Baptist University on Thursday, December 5.
The Weevils are scheduled to tip following the conclusion of the OBU and the Blossoms contest.
