The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils wrapped up their non conference schedule this past Saturday with a home win over Ecclesia College to improve to 4-2 on the season.
The win marks the Weevils fourth consecutive win after a come from behind victory on Tuesday at Steelman Fieldhouse over Delta State University.
The Statesmen would lead the Weevils 40-29 at the half, but UAM would come back in the second half to hold Delta State to 29 points in the second half, outscoring the Statesmen 46-29 to take the 75-69 win.
Issac Jackson would lead the Weevils in scoring with 21 points followed by Jakob Zenon with 20.
Ashton Price and Josh Smith would join Jackson and Zenon in double-digit scoring with Price scoring 14 and Smith adding 12.
Giancarlo Valdez and Feliz Smedjeback finished with four points each.
Returning on Saturday, hosting Ecclesia, Zenon would tie the Weevil record for three-pointers in a contest with 10 and would become the 11th Weevil in school history to score 36 points in a contest.
The Weevils would take over the contest early with a 10-point lead, 15-5.
The Weevils would go on to outscore Ecclesia by 24 in the first half to lead 50-26 at the break.
Ecclesia would have a better scoring outing in the second half, but the Weevils would once more hit the half century mark, scoring 56 points in the half to Ecclesia 35 for the 106-61 win.
It was the first time the Weevils had hit 100 plus points since the 2023-24 exhibition game against John Melvin University when the Weevils won 105-50.
Zenon led the Weevils with 36 followed by Price with 16, Jackson with 14, and Smith with 14.
Giancarlo Valdez and Smedjeback had nine, Bryson Hammond with four, and Gianssen Valdez with two,
The Weevils return Thursday to begin GAC play, hosting Oklahoma Baptist at 7 pm.
