White Hall Bulldogs defeat Monticello Billies at home 75-53

The Monticello Billies would have one final contest on Monday, December 19, hosting the White Hall Bulldogs who play out of the 5A South. 

The contest with the Bulldogs would be the team's second meeting this season with Monticello having travelled to White Hall on Friday, December 9, in a 36-point, 86-50, loss.

The Bulldogs would enter the contest with a 9-4 overall record and a 4-0 record in their conference, leading the 5A South. 

For Monticello, the Billies would enter the contest with a 2-7 record, having lost their previous three contests. 

Monticello’s Jeremiah Daniels would get the Billies on the board first in the contest with two-points under the basket.

White Hall would score the next nine points in the quarter to take a 9-2 lead.

Jagger Hines would cut the  lead to four points at the 4:00 mark on his first three-pointer of the contest. 

White Hall would extend the lead to 11-5, but Daniels would connect on a two and Hines on his second three to cut the lead to one-point, 11-0, with 2:06 remaining in the quarter. 

White Hall would score the final five points of the quarter after a three and a two extended the lead to six points, 16-10, at the end of the quarter. 

Monticello had their best quarter of the contest, connecting on three three-pointers in the quarter with Hines connecting on two, and Tejon Tensley connecting on the third, Tensley scored five points in the quarter. 

Luke Jones would score four points in the quarter as the Billies would outscore the Bulldogs in the quarter 15-12 to trail by three points, 28-25, at the break.

Monticello would put together two solid quarters on the scoreboard, however, the Bulldogs would put together their best quarters of the contest. 

Kaleb Hargrove would open the half for the Bulldogs, connecting on a three-pointer to extend the lead to 31-25.

White Hall would continue to extend their lead in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs would go on to outscore Monticello 23-13 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 13 points, 51-38, to head into the fourth quarter. 

The fourth quarter would go much the same way as the third quarter went for both teams.

White Hall would start the quarter, scoring the first four points of the quarter.

White Hall continued to grow the lead in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Billies 24-15 in the quarter to take a 22-point, 75-53, victory.

With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 10-4 overall on the season with the Billies falling to 2-8.

Monticello would see three players reach double-digits in scoring with Jagger Hines leading the way, connecting on six three point shots for 18 points. Jeremiah Daniels followed Hines with 12 points with Luke Jones scoring 10. 

Tejon Tensley would add nine points. Quay Rhodes and Brett Birch would round out the scoring with two points each.

Monticello will travel to Berryville to participate in the Berryville Tournament beginning on Wednesday, December 28. The Billies will face Fountain Lake at 4:40 PM.
