Lady Billies improve to 18-0 overall and 10-0 in conference

The Monticello Lady Billies continued their perfect season with five more consecutive victories to improve their overall record to 18-0 and 10-0 in 8-4A Conference play.

The Lady Billies would travel to Warren on Friday, April 5, to face the Lady Lumberjacks.

Addi Frazier would allow two hits over five shutout innings as the Lady Billies connected for five home runs as the Lady Billies took an 11-0 victory.

The Lady Billies would return home on April 12 to host the Hamburg Lions.

Alaina Lyle would pitch four shutout innings, allowing one hit as the Lady Billies connected for five home runs with Addi Frazer connecting for three home runs going 3 for 3 in the contest to help Monticello take a 16-0 win.

On Monday, April 15, the Lady Billies would travel to Star City to face the Lady Bulldogs that had been rescheduled due to weather. 

Star City would get on the board first in the contest, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 2-0 lead.

Lyle would begin the top of the fourth inning with a double before Audrey Howard popped out to the pitcher. 

Kiley Lane would connect for a two-run home run in the next at bat to tie the score 2-2.

The Lady Billies would get one more run in the inning to take a 3-2 lead.

Star City would get a run back in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring a single run to tie the contest 3-3.

Ashley Hales would give the Lady Billies a one run lead in the top of the sixth inning, leading the inning off with a solo home run.

In the top of the seventh inning, Libby Kingston would lead off with a single  and would score later in the inning on a single by Howard to give the Lady Billies a  5-3 lead. 

After a scoreless bottom half of the inning the Lady Billies had improved their conference record to 8-0.

Hosting Watson Chapel on Tuesday, April 16, the Lady Billies and Lady Wildcats would  play a conference double header

In game one, the Lady Billies would pitch Macy Stell and Mary Joy Jones in the three inning blow out.

The Lady Billies would get 13 runs in the bottom of the first inning and two runs in the bottom of the second for the 15-0 win.

Game two would  almost be a mirror image of game one as Stell would pitch a complete one hit game as the Lady Billies scored seven runs in the bottom of the first and eight runs in the bottom of the second for the 15-0 win.

With the pair of wins, the Lady Billies improved to 18-0 and 10-0 in conference play.

The Lady Billies have two conference games remaining on the schedule and five regular season games overall.

Monticello will host Crossett on Thursday, April 18, at 5 pm and will wrap up the regular season conference contests on Thursday, April 25, hosting Stuttgart. 

The team has currently connected for 37 home runs on the season and needs to hit 1o in the final five games to tie Smackover for the state record for homeruns in a season. 

The Lady Billies are ranked first in the 8-4A Conference with Star City second, Hamburg third, and Warren fourth.
