The Monticello Youth Sports Association baseball season has officially come to an end with the final 15U Babe Ruth games being played this week.

With all leagues except the 15U Babe Ruth wrapping up at the end of May, the Babe Ruth League plays their final games this week with the schedule showing a final contest between the 15U Reds and the 15U Cardinals at 5:30 pm.

The 15U Cardinals are undefeated in league play as of the May 26 updated scores and are 4-0 as of that date.

As of May 26, the Warren Jacks were in second, the 15U Reds in third, and the Star City team was in fourth.

On Monday, June 5, Warren picked up a win against the 15U Reds to improve their record to 3-1 and the Reds falling to 2-3.

In the top of the first inning, the Reds would get a couple of baserunners in the inning, but were not able to get any runs across the plate.

In the bottom of the inning, Warren would take the lead after a two RBI double and would add another run before the end of the inning to take a 3-0 lead.

Having to borrow three players from the Cardinals in order to get the game in, all three Cardinal players would reach base for the Reds in the top of the second.

Cade Smith would drive in two runs and the Reds would score another to tie the contest at three.

Warren would add a run in the bottom of the inning to retake the lead 4-3, but the Reds came back in the top of the third to score two runs to take a 5-4 lead.

Jordan McDaniel was able to hold Warren scoreless in the bottom of the inning, but there was time for one more inning with Warren holding the Reds scoreless and the Jacks scoring two runs on an error through the shortstop to take a 6-5 win.
