Coming off their season opening win on the road at Fordyce, the Monticello Billies would host the Bauxite Miners at Hyatt Field on Friday night.
Monticello would receive the ball to begin the contest and would be forced to punt.
Bauxite would get on the board on their first drive of the contest on a 10-yard touchdown pass and extra point.
Monticello would have the first of five turnovers in the contest on their second drive after a fumble by Joseph Accelus was recovered by the Miners but Monticello would recover a fumble after Luke Reid would come up with the ball at the Monticello 36.
On the first play of the Billie drive, Hudson Harvey’s pass would be intercepted, giving Bauxite possession.
The Miners would score 21 unanswered points against the Billies.
Monticello would get on the board with 5:31 remaining int he half on a one-yard run by Ed Ramos, but the extra point would be blocked.
Bauxite would score before the end of the half to take a 28-6 lead at the break.
Bauxite scored on an interception in the third quarter and would go up 41-6 to begin the fourth.
Monticello would get their final touchdown on a one-yard run by Jonah White and a two-point conversion reception by Kaiden White to set up the final score, Bauxite 41 Monticello 14.
The Billies would have five turnovers in the contest.
Monticello will travel to Little Rock Mills this Friday, September 11, to face off with the Comets for a 7 pm kickoff.
